Last week OnScale were silver sponsors at IEEE IUS 2019 in Glasgow. The event was extremely successful, and we were delighted that so many event attendees were attracted to our booth. We’d like to thank everyone who stopped by booth #14 to speak with us!
On the first day our Founder and UK Director, Andrew Tweedie, presented a short course that covered how to simulate and optimize the performance of typical acoustic MEMS devices, such as BAW (Bulk Acoustic Wave) and SAW (Surface Acoustic Wave) filters and MUTs (Micromachined Ultrasonic Transducers). Tweedie shared real-world tutorials, teaching not only how to obtain real world results, but how to use them to achieve engineering design goals. The course covered a range of topics including PMUTS (piezoelectric MUTs) used for ultrasonic imaging applications and SAW filters for 5G communications.
On the second day our Senior Application Engineer, Kevin Chan, presented a “Crosstalk Study of Large PMUT Array using FEA and Cloud HPC”. Chan discussed the background and motivation of a PMUT, high performance simulation execution on the cloud, as well as PMUT single element and array design.
Throughout the last two days of the event our team had the chance to see many interesting exhibitors and talks from fellow attendees, while sharing demos and discussing OnScale’s plans for the future.
We hope to see you at IEEE IUS 2020 in Las Vegas!
