Mary Ann Maher of SoftMEMS

Mary Ann Maher, PhD

Mary Ann is the CEO of SoftMEMS LLC. She received her Ph.D. degree from Caltech in the area of semiconductor device modeling. She pursued doctoral studies at the Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology (CSEM) in Neuchatel, Switzerland and joined Tanner Research in 1992. She moved to MEMSCAP in 1999 as an Executive Vice President and became the company’s CTO in 2001. She founded SoftMEMS LLC in 2004 to address the need for CAD tools for Microsystems.

Ian Campbell, CEO

Ian is an engineer and entrepreneur. Prior to founding OnScale, Ian founded NextInput, an award-winning Silicon Valley tech company that brought a new IoT sensor tech from concept to high-volume design wins in four years.

Gerry Harvey, PhD

Gerry is a creative engineer with over 15 years experience in FEA, R&D and bringing emerging technology to market. He has worked closely with Fortune 100 companies, helping accelerate the development of their next-gen products through advanced simulation. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde.

Mihir Patel OnScale headshot

Mihir Patel, PhD

Mihir S Patel is the Director of Engineering at OnScale. As a technical leader he has developed and commercialized piezo MEMS devices for sensors, RF filter and acoustic imaging applications across the oil & gas, telecommunications and defense industries. He was the recipient of the 2006 IEEE-FCS Best Paper Award for QMEMS devices and 2015 Schlumberger Technical Depth Award for the development of industry leading high precision low cost fast responding dual-mode sensor. Mihir received his MS and PhD in applied mechanics from Rutgers University, where he developed numerical methods to study the environmental effects on the stability of piezoelectric MEMS devices. At OnScale, he is helping customers leverage cloud simulation for the development of digital technology platforms.

Jeff Dobson, EngD

Jeff Dobson is a senior application engineer at OnScale and has recently completed an Engineering Doctorate at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, focused on NDT simulation. Jeff is an experienced FEA engineer with an expertise in advanced NDT simulations, such as modeling ultrasonic inspections of composite components. Jeff has over 7 years experience with OnScale and supports activity across current and future applications, whilst also managing consultancy projects and providing technical support.
